Historical Series

Our Serie Historicista (Historical Series) is inspired by different traditional decorating styles, from the ceramics of Islamic origin, going through the Mudejar, the Renaissance, the Baroque, and the eighteenth century, to the Trianic styles of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, which owes itself to the Renaissance and Baroque tradition. However, our inspiration for this series was not limited to the traditional ceramics of Seville; we also looked at other styles beyond our borders, such as Turkish, Portuguese, and Mexican ceramics. Bringing these traditional ceramic designs together, this series aims to rethink the ceramic cannon to offer a unique and renewed product.

About BarroAzul

BarroAzul was founded by Paula Felizón (Anthropologist and Ceramist) and Antonio Librero (Art Historian and Cultural Manager) who, from the distinct perspectives of their disciplines, have been working in the world of ceramics for years. After collaborating as documentalists at the Ceramics Centre of Triana, they decided to share their knowledge with visitors of Triana.
