About us

BarroAzul

Research and teaching of the tradition and heritage of Sevillian ceramics

BarroAzul was born with the aim of being a space for sharing the inherent value and artistry of Sevillian ceramics. We work in many different areas including research, teaching, and above all, immersing our BarroAzul community in the world of ceramics, providing you with a practical understanding of the material.

What do we do?

  • Courses. Our courses are designed to explore the art of ceramics from the unique perspectives of history of art, anthropology, commerce, and industry etc. Additionally, we offer pottery courses (on the wheel) for all those who wish to begin learning, or to advance their existing skills in this fascinating art form.
  • Workshops. Our ceramic workshops can be adapted for everyone. Corporate team building, schools, birthdays, friends… Just ask us for the option that can be best adapted to what you’re looking for.
  • Exhibitions. We contribute to the production of exhibitions in the world of ceramics, from the initial idea, throughout the process, to the final decisions on the content.
  • Research. We carry out research and produce historical reports about the protection and conservation of the Sevillian heritage of ceramics.

About BarroAzul

BarroAzul was founded by Paula Felizón (Anthropologist and Ceramist) and Antonio Librero (Art Historian and Cultural Manager) who, from the distinct perspectives of their disciplines, have been working in the world of ceramics for years. After collaborating as documentalists at the Ceramics Centre of Triana, they decided to share their knowledge with visitors of Triana.
